"10. Tag 5 people
Only five? Haha. Okay. People who have interesting book choices.
sarahcoldheart,
lunacy_syndrome,
dorkodileFlossy, Krys, Schwa, Ben, and any of my classmates. :D (Just pretend I have a counting problem)"
Apparently I have interesting book choices~
*glomps Lizzay*. I'm touched.
So tag! I'm it!
1.
One book which you have read more than once Almost all my books really... Choices, choices, choices. Alright. The perennial favourite of this meme; "
Good Omens" by
Neil Gaiman &
Terry Pratchett. I've gone through 3 copies of that book. *sigh*. At the rate I'm reading this book, I might have to buy another copy. Bloody hell.
2.
One book you want on a deserted island
Easy;
"An Island to Oneself: Six Years on a Desert Island" by Tom Neale. Why? Because I'm such a dumbass when it comes to survival. It's nice to have a reference of sorts. I wonder if they have a "Surviving on a Deserted Island for Dummies" or "Surviving on an Island Without a Sport Equipment to Talk to"
3.
One book that made you laugh
Again... too many choices. Anything
Terry Pratchett, Carl Hiaasen, Janet Evanovich, is a guaranteed laugh fest. Not to mention trashy romance novels (especially those with
Fabio on the covers) and that Mile-High Club book I gave to
soulle. Oh and
Douglas Adams definitely.
However since I can only have one, I'll pick the most recent;
"America; A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction" by
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I swear, I learnt more about the US government and current affairs from reading this book and watching his show, than through watching/reading the news and two years of history class with a unit on USA. This bloke puts the right perspective in a fun way in things that goes on around the world.
4.
One book that made you cry
Como Agua Para Chocolate" by
Laura Esquivel or for you non-Spanish speakers
like me,
"Like Water for Chocolate." It's depressing to see my namesake having to suffer through so much tragedy (the protaganist shares my name- yay!). T-T.
This book is your typical Mexican soap it has; LOVE! HATE! BETRAYAL! CONTROVERSY! TRAGEDY! and best of all- RECIPES!. I kid you not, the recipe for
Chocolate and Three Kings Day Bread made my mouth water.
P.S. the caps on my description is justified because it is soo
Telemundo.
5.
One book you wish you had writtenAh, an easy one,
the Bible, because:
- That would automatically elevate me to a sanctimonious level, and my aunt won't comment my need to be exorcised.
- Dudes, imagine the royalties from booksale!!
However, because I'm neither saintly nor rich- just a pervy undergrad, I doubt anything I've written will be accepted as a holy text except by the fanatically mental.
6.
One book you wish had never been writtenGotta agree with Lizzy on this one. Any Econs text that have ever seen the light of day, including works by John Adams. >.<
The Ultimate Evil Econs Text:
"Essential Mathematics for Economic Analysis" by
Knut Sydsæter &
Peter Hammond.
7.
One book you are currently reading
" Oscar Wilde; The Major Works." Another book in my collection that I'll always revisit. :)
8.
One book you have been meaning to read
The cravings of my inner slash fangirl must be satisfied one of these days. So I'll say
"The Joy of Gay Sex" by
Charles Silverstein &
Felice Picano. Why bother if I don't have the right 'equipment' so to say? Chalk it up to curiosity and impending joblessness.
9.
One book that changed your life
The
"Secret Island" by
Enid Blyton. Purely because reading them started a lifelong affair between me and the written works. C'mon, everyone has read Enid Blyton at one point. She kicks pre-pubescent asses!
10.
Tag 5 people I would re-tag
lizzaeh if I could, but since I couldn't, hmm...
soulle, Panda and the 'blue' book, *snicker* dude have your sister figured out you stole her book?
seabizzit for introducing me to a lot of good books for the short while we were in the same school.
innocenz69 because the Viet is a genius and her picks would probably be witty and kooky.
- Eknam. We fought over second-hand copies of David Eddings, those were the days.
- Ivan - the only bloke I know from SMU who reads and quotes like a Quote Generator from Caesar, Godfather and other assorted elite readings.
This is better than Oprah's book club! :P Hahaha!
